DNA Testing Services

PEACE OF MIND SERVICES

If there is a biological relation in question but no legal need for DNA testing, peace of mind services are the ideal testing option. Fortunately, services offered by reputable businesses like Endeavor DNA Laboratories means all DNA testing is treated equally. Our peace of mind testing is as accurate as our court admissible options but does not have to be conducted by a third party.

Peace of Mind Paternity Test

Peace of Mind Twin Zygosity Test

This test includes one Alleged Father and one Child with 2-day test results once samples are RECEIVED at the lab. Paternity DNA tests determine the likelihood that a male is the biological father of a child. Standard parties tested include a child, the alleged father, and the mother. The mother’s participation in a paternity test helps to exclude half of the child’s DNA, leaving the other half for comparison with the alleged father’s DNA. Paternity DNA tests can be completed without the mother’s participation, but it is always recommended.

This test includes two twins with 2-day test results once samples are RECEIVED at the lab.

This DNA test definitively determines whether twins are identical or fraternal by testing the two individuals in question.

Identical twins come from one fertilized egg, called a zygote. The zygote, which usually develops into one child, grows and splits early in development to form two embryos, creating twins with the exact same DNA. Fraternal twins, on the other hand, develop when two different eggs in the mother’s womb are fertilized by two different sperms. Fraternal twins will not have exactly the same DNA.

Court admissible DNA testing requires strict sample collection procedures and stringent documentation requirements. Our expert case managers will work with you to schedule a sample collection in your area at a time convenient for you.

Peace of Mind Paternal Lineage (Y-STR) Test

This test includes two Males with 2-day test results once samples are RECEIVED at the lab. Y-STR testing determines whether two males share the same paternal lineage. The Y-STR paternal lineage DNA test is based on the fact that the Y chromosome is passed from father to son relatively unchanged through many generations. Only males can undergo Y-STR testing because females do not possess a Y chromosome.

Y-STR paternal lineage testing determines whether or not Y-STR markers are or are not consistent with the conclusion that the tested males may be related through a common male ancestor. Y-STR analysis cannot distinguish a specific relationship between males who belong to the same paternal line. However, it can be useful for excluding males from an alleged biological relationship.

Peace of Mind Prenatal Paternity Test

Peace of Mind Aunt/Uncle (Avuncular) Test

This test includes one Mother and one Alleged Father with 5-day test results once samples are RECEIVED at the lab. NOTE: Prenatal Paternity Tests must be collected by your OBGYN. Please contact them before ordering the test to ensure they are willing to perform the sample collection.

This test includes one Alleged Uncle or Aunt and one Child with 2-day test results once samples are RECEIVED at the lab.

Avuncular tests calculate the likelihood of relatedness between a child and an aunt or uncle.

A child inherits exactly half of their genes from their biological father and the biological father shares around half of his genes in common with his full sibling, therefore the child will share around half of its paternal genes in common with the full sibling of the biological father. Based upon the number of genetic matches, the laboratory calculates the statistical likelihood that the alleged aunt/uncle is biologically related to the child versus being unrelated.

It may not be possible to achieve a conclusive result. Even though the siblings may have the same biological parents, the alleged father is not genetically identical to the alleged sibling and have different genetic markers. On the average, testing an alleged father’s full sibling allows us to determine only half of his genes.

To increase the certainty of the results, testing the mother of the child is strongly recommended, as this allows for identify genetic markers of the child that were inherited maternally and to eliminate them from consideration as possible paternal markers.

Peace of Mind Maternity Test

This test includes one Alleged Mother and one Child with 2-day test results once samples are RECEIVED at the lab. Maternity DNA tests determine the likelihood that a female is the biological mother of a child. Standard parties tested include a child, the alleged mother, and the father. The father’s participation in a maternity test helps to exclude half of the child’s DNA, leaving the other half for comparison with the alleged mother’s DNA. Maternity DNA tests can be completed without the father’s participation, but it is always recommended.

Peace of Mind Grandparentage Test

This test includes one Alleged Grandparent and one Child with 2-day test results once samples are RECEIVED at the lab.

A grandparent DNA test calculates the likelihood of relatedness between a child and one or both grandparents.

A child inherits exactly 50% of its genes from its biological mother and 50% from its biological father, that child shares exactly 25% of its genes with each biological grandparent. If both biological parents of the alleged parent are tested and they do not possess the paternal or maternal genes between them, then they are excluded ruled out as the biological grandparents. When both biological parents of the alleged parent possess the paternal or maternal genes between them, they are not excluded as the biological grandparents.

It may not be possible to obtain conclusive results in a grandparent DNA test if both alleged grandparents are not tested. We recommend testing both alleged grandparents as well as one parent if possible to achieve the most accurate results, similarly to the Missing Parent DNA test.

It is also important to understand that, in reporting the results of a DNA grandparent test, the laboratory assumes that the tested alleged grandparents are, in fact, the biological parents of the unavailable, alleged parent. If there is any question regarding the paternity of the unavailable alleged parent, then the alleged biological grandfather should not be tested.
